Hello friends and lovers!
If my Goodreads highlights for Damien, Forever by Tempest Phan isn’t an indication that you should read this now, then I don’t know what is.
Damien and Mirabella have been best friends since they were seven years old, due to circumstances, Damien (Dame) leaves for a solid ten years and comes back into Bella’s life as they reconnect in high school. Bella is not your average blonde cheerleader, she’s got gorgeous, straight, slick long black hair and Dame happens to be tatted up, almost all over. He has jet black hair and wears eyeliner.
We see these two struggle to be together over the span of, essentially almost two decades, I believe.
It is a slow burn, so be prepared. (I’m a slow burn type of gal, so this was perfect for me!)
Dame is a sweet sensitive man who puts Bella first and his decisions are only made because he believes it is what is best for her and Bella’s Father.
However, they both truly love one another and while Bella fights for his love throughout the book, we see the struggle Dame goes through with his own decision, and how his own past has damaged him to the point of not believing he deserves happiness.
But. My. God.
Dame, he truly deserves happiness. I rooted for these two the entire time.
BUT. Let me tell you… Dame is so stubborn over his decision, he essentially drives Bella’s into someone else’s arms, Lukas Stone.
I love Lukas.
That’s all I’m gonna say about him. He’s a really sweet guy. Ok, that’s all I’m saying.
Anyway, this is in no way a traditional love triangle and I don’t want to say too much, because it may give away the story and honestly… you’d have to read this one. I cried so many times throughout the book.
I’m a crier. I love crying over books, movies, sometimes commercials.
Last piece I want to mention. I love Dame and Bella, they are such relatable characters, they both fight for what they believe is best, which makes them a bit stubborn in a way. I feel for Dame and the life he lives at home with his mother who is mentally ill.
Last, last piece. This is Tempest Phan’s debut novel and I would have never known. It is well written, the characters are deeply developed and clearly written with so much love, I could feel it radiate in each page I read.
To say this is a highly recommended book is an understatement.
Ok, one last thing. I love that Dame isn’t your typical hunky jock who is tall, dark, and handsome. Dame is tall, pale, and sexy as fuck. These are the guys I want to read about, a new type of man! It’s so refreshing and I loved him.
Rating: 💋💋💋💋💋/ 5
Steamy Rating: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/ 5
Slow burn, but my god, when you get to a particular scene in the book, you’ll be blown away. I know I was with how sexy it was and quite frankly, I did NOT see that scene coming either.
I haven’t had a full steamy read in a while and I’m so glad this hit every single steamy piece for me.
