Top 5 Social Media Tips For Better Content

Hello friends and lovers,

Whether you are a writer, reader, blogger, photographer, any creative at all. I have a list below dedicated to free ways you can create social media images. Best part is, it is SUPER EASY!

I need to be completely honest with you. Between working a full time job, hustling as a writer I have learned this is a tough journey, but the tips below really helped me out. I hope they will help you too.

**This post is not sponsored, just my personal opinion on free social media content creating options I came come across.

  • Adobe Spark (best value)

    • This platform has a few packages ranging from free - $19.99 a month.

    • Personally I really enjoy Adobe Spark’s free option. It has all the images I’m looking for and a great way to add text to them. Photoshop has taken a backseat.

    • Unum + Adobe Spark = perfection for branding. See below for further details.

    • Adobe Spark allows you to create a type of branding kit on their website. You upload your logo, pick a font, and enter in your color palette. Voila, you’re able to create branded images (like the one above) to use for your social media.

      • They have various sizes including instagram stories, instagram posts, Facebook posts, Pinterest posts… you get the picture. THEY HAVE IT ALL!

      • P.S. I have used Adobe Spark to create each of my Pinterest artwork AND my Instagram page. It has saved me so much time. I don’t even need photoshop (sorry, photoshop! I love you!). Time saver.

  • Canva

    • This platform has a few packages ranging from free - $30 a month.

    • Canva was the first platform I learned about when I began an etsy shop. It really made things very easy for me. I had the free version, then played with a free trial of their $12.95 package. I must say, I really think the $12.95 option is very beneficial. It has more options than the free version, naturally. However, you can really tell the difference between what’s free and not. Hence, why I really like Adobe Spark for the free version.

  • Preview (Best scheduler)

    • This platform has a few packages ranging from free - $12.50 a month.

    • Personally, I’ve been using Preview for a while and I absolutely love it. It really allows you to play around with how you want your feed to look like by uploading your images. They ever have filters to help make a cohesive brand on Instagram!

      • You’re able to create hashtags groups, in case you want to organize several groups within it. I use this feature and it’s still free! Having one account is free.

      • You’re able to utilize their analytics they pull straight from Instagram,

      • You can CAPTION every post and schedule ahead of time! This is SUCH a timesaver. I highly recommend it. Take 30-60 minutes once a week to plan your posts. Totally worth it!

  • Quotes Cover

    • This platform is completely free!!!

    • I have yet to use this one, because I’ve been sucked into Adobe Spark, however this is a great alternative if you are looking for something completely free.

  • Unum

    • This platform has a few packages ranging from free - $4.99

    • This one is brand new to me. I came across is recently due to one of the Author YouTuber’s I watch. However, they did not go into detail about the free resources I came across.

      • Have you ever wondered how Instagram profile bio have different fonts? I did. Look no further, because one of the free resources lie within Unum. (Below is a screenshot of how to find the “Free Tools” page. It’s also linked above.

  • To the left: is a quick snapshot of how my profile bio looks. I really enjoy italics, so this is perfect! You have multiple font options within the free resource. Go play around and have fun!

  • Another favorite feature I found, which goes perfect with Adobe Spark, is the color palette feature under their free tools. Color palette? You might be thinking it is not very useful, however when you are branding your business, this is a GREAT tip. To the left you’ll see the image I uploaded to pick the colors I want for my branding. It has a bit more dimension than my logo as far as coloring, and it provides the coding of your brand colors from the image. I used this information to plug into my Adobe Spark when I created “My Branding Section” for free. Now, anytime I create an image, I can pull from my branding kit. (The graphic above I created using adobe Spark and used the branding feature as well.)

There you have it. Top 5 social media tips for better content. It may be overwhelming with all the hundreds of options out there, which is why I wanted to have a small list. There is no need to use multiple platforms and overwhelm yourself more than you need to. If I’m being completely honest, prior to making my brand as an author (which is recent, but the planning has been in place), I was overwhelmed to the point of tears. However, I have a wonderful husband who let me know that I just need to take all my knowledge and go through it one piece at a time. Instantly, I felt a large weight lifted off my shoulders. After that moment, I was able to hone in on my branding. I didn’t feel overwhelmed anymore.

Many YouTube Authors I was watching gloried social media platforms and how all need to be used, but I don’t believe it. It might be very helpful, but for now I’ll stick to Instagram, Pinterest, and my blog.

So writers, don’t overwhelm yourselves. Take it one step at a time. Writing is the most important thing we have, so keep on creating stories you were meant to tell. The social media and branding will fall into place once you are ready.
