Seriously though, Good Reads is amazing and it allows me to keep tabs on my book review notes.

Emily and Liam in Protecting His Windflower by Temperance Dawn was such a delight for a brand new indie author with her debut novel!

The premise of of the story is that Emily Taylor has a strong feeling to move to San Francisco, where she ends up meeting her love interest Liam, who happens to be a paranormal investigator, and sweet on the eyes too.

I don’t normally read paranormal romances, but I had to give this one a shot, because it’s Temperance and she’s such a sweet author, great person!

This was a slow burn indeed when it came to the storyline, but that must be how paranormal plots are. I enjoyed it, it was good. Especially Emily and Liam, they had quite the whirlwind of a romance and the twists and turns I went on during their romance was quite the whiplash, in a good way!

Liam and Emily were kept apart by a malevolent ghost who thrived on keeping the two apart in their current life, which I don’t want to spoil it but you find out more history between the three characters, which was very different for me and I liked it.

****Oh, by the way, Windflower was such a clever name and really enjoyed when that was revealed!

The only little detail that I was unsure of was the repetition of Liam and Emily’s feelings throughout the story, the dialogue and inner thoughts. Otherwise, this was a four star read for me and would recommend it, especially if you love paranormal slow burn romances, this is a great pick!
