Synopsis

Eggnog. Check. Roaring fire. Check. Hot romance book. Check! Riley Kennedy’s emails keep getting crossed with her male colleague, Kennedy Riley. The infuriating man forwards them along with his annoying commentary and unsolicited advice. At least she never has to see him in person, since they work in different locations…until they come face to face at the office holiday party. As luck would have it, Kennedy turns out to be outrageously handsome…though still a jerk. Yet somehow he’s able to charm her out on the dance floor—and convince her to participate in his crazy scheme: he’ll go home with Riley for a Christmas party and pretend to be her boyfriend, if Riley agrees to be his date to a wedding. It sounds easy enough. Little by little, however, the act they’re putting on starts to feel like so much more than a Christmas pact—and Riley’s about to learn there’s more to Kennedy than she ever imagined.

Hello friends and lovers!

I’ve got a special Christmas treat for you today! This is my first ever Christmas romance novel review and read. I’m glad it was this one too, it’s a very sweet romantic comedy type of read and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a feel good romance, especially The Christmas Pact by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. I highly recommend it.

The meet cute itself is so cute, our main character is Riley Kennedy who receives an email from Kennedy Riley (the same name, but flip flopped).

Their emails at work get mixed up constantly since they practically have the same name. It is a fake relationship romance trope where we see Riley invite Kennedy along to her family’s house for the holidays and in exchange she would go to Kennedy’s house for New Years.

This story is a novella length which was great, I listened through audible and it was a little under three hours, which is fantastic. I love being able to listen to multiple books as I work. It makes the long eight hours of typing my life away for the financial industry, so much more enjoyable.

Completely laughed like a mad woman, throughout the book, as I worked because of the silly jokes and cheesiness they had! Even right now I’m in literal fucking tears cracking up!

This is in no way a steamy read at all, so I rated that super low. The lowest I’ve had but a solid five star for the fun and fuzzy feelings it gave me.

Plus, Riley showed Kennedy that she kept her vibrator inside her doll at her parent’s house 😂 GOLD! Just pure gold!

What I Enjoyed:

  • The feel good romance of a fake relationship was so cute and fun to listen and laugh along to.

  • The narrators of the audiobook was really lovely to listen to. Sebastian York’s voice is just soooo…. sexy.

Rating: 💋💋💋💋💋/ 5

Steamy Rating: 💋💋/ 5

  • Just more of a nice feel good romance!
