Synopsis

A broken heart can only be healed by opening it up to love again... Virgo and dedicated single dad, Conner Bennett is all work and no play. The handsome construction worker has his hands full with soccer games and sleepovers. And not the grown up kind...too bad because the sexy single mother of his daughter’s new best-friend checks ALL his boxes.

Capricorn and hippie chick, Audrey Wilde is also raising a child on her own. Casual flings are off limits for this fiercely protective single mom. Her life revolves around her daughter. She can’t afford to get burned again. Not even by the mouthwatering single dad who’s suddenly in her life... and her dreams.

According to the stars, a Virgo man and a Capricorn woman are an ideal match. Both sensual and connected to the earth...together they could be passion, adventure and perfection. But their hearts— they carry the scars and insecurities of the past.

The pull they feel is undeniable. Will it be love written in the stars for these two, or are they fated to remain jaded by love?

Hello friends and lovers!

We’re back with another book review! I have to say, quarantine has been the year to read for me, as well as many others I’m sure.

Since beginning to write, books have become second nature once again. I used to read when I was younger, especially mystery type stories. Kinda funny how our genre taste changes. Ever since high school though, I have enjoyed romance novels and YA!

Enough about that though… A.J. Alexander has so many books, and unfortunately I did not know until I followed her recently and she promoted Jaded By Love. Seeing quotes of the book really sold me and I preordered right away!
It wasn’t until I received my ebook that I noticed it was book 8! Say what! They are all stand alone romances, but the characters are all related in some way, which makes it a fun Easter egg type of story. I love those kind!

This slow burn romance was great, because I kept wanting to see Conner and Audrey together, but once they finally got together, it was a sudden crash of lovely events one after the other, with sweet romance, heartache, and the whole whirlwind love! However, there were times during the story I wanted to shake Audrey, because of how wonderful Conner was with her, but she was wishy-washy. I really did want to slap her, but it made her a great character. It makes the story!
I would highly recommend this novella, it’s really touching. Below are a few points of what I liked and didn’t like. Opinions are solely my own.

What I Enjoyed:

  • The meet cute is so adorable!

  • I’m not a parent, and I don’t personally want children. However, this single parent romance really tugged at my heart strings. The love these two have for their daughters, is beyond sweet.

  • It reminded me of Parent Trap a bit, which made is even more fun! The author makes reference to it as well, which is cute.

  • It’s a very satisfying short read!

What I Didn’t Like:

  • There really isn’t anything, except I wanted to shake Audrey a few times and tell her to follow her heart! But that isn’t really a negative, it’s just part of her character and tension in the story.

Rating: 💋💋💋💋💋/ 5

Steamy Rating: 💋💋💋💋💋/ 5

  • The whirlwind romance was really sweet, sensual, and very fast paced, but I gotta say… what made it really steamy was the finger play in it 😏😉

Where to Buy:

If you have read the book, I would love to hear your take on it. Do you agree with my review? Comment below!
