12 Latinx Romance Authors To Read This Month
Hello friends and lovers!
It’s that time of year again! Happy Hispanic Heritage Month :) Viva la communidad de Latinx!
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated between September 15th to October 15th. It’s going to be a great month to celebrate your favorite Latinx romance books and authors.
I asked on instagram recently what your favorite Latinx romance books/authors are and I was sad to see there were no recommendations. As a community it seems like we need and crave diversity, but it doesn’t seem to be top of mind when it comes to recommendations. And while there weren’t any recommendations, that’s ok, because I got you! While this is a short list of 12 authors/books to start your reading, I encourage you to discover new Latinx authors!
Below is a great starting list to read this month, the rest of the year, the new year, etc!
Yours truly may or may not be in this list ;) (of course I am!)
Let’s diversify our reading!
*The authors are in no particular order.*
What is Hispanic Heritage Month?
“Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period starting on September 15 and ending on October 15. It was enacted into law on August 17, 1988, on the approval of Public Law 100-402.
The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September18, respectively. Also, Columbus Day or Día de la Raza, which is October 12, falls within this 30 day period.”

The son of the most dangerous Kingpin in Mexico.
The heir to the throne.
The man that individuals fear the most, next to my father.
According to my father those are things that I should be proud of. I should be proud of my heritage and wear it on my back with honor.
I’ll honor my heritage but I will not honor the path that is set out for me. The life that my father lives is not for me. I will do anything in my power to walk away from that life, and that apparently includes getting married in Vegas after a night of drinking.
She’s beautiful, everything that I have ever wanted, but I can’t have her. Not with the life that I live.
Not with the blood I have on my hands.

A Most Anticipated Book of 2022 by Cosmopolitan, Goodreads, PopSugar, and more!
From the author of the Goodreads Choice Award winner The Spanish Love Deception, the eagerly anticipated follow-up featuring Rosie Graham and Lucas Martín, who are forced to share a New York apartment.
Rosie Graham has a problem. A few, actually. She just quit her well paid job to focus on her secret career as a romance writer. She hasn’t told her family and now has terrible writer’s block. Then, the ceiling of her New York apartment literally crumbles on her. Luckily she has her best friend Lina’s spare key while she’s out of town. But Rosie doesn’t know that Lina has already lent her apartment to her cousin Lucas, who Rosie has been stalking—for lack of a better word—on Instagram for the last few months. Lucas seems intent on coming to her rescue like a Spanish knight in shining armor. Only this one strolls around the place in a towel, has a distracting grin, and an irresistible accent. Oh, and he cooks.
Lucas offers to let Rosie stay with him, at least until she can find some affordable temporary housing. And then he proposes an outrageous experiment to bring back her literary muse and meet her deadline: He’ll take her on a series of experimental dates meant to jump-start her romantic inspiration. Rosie has nothing to lose. Her silly, online crush is totally under control—but Lucas’s time in New York has an expiration date, and six weeks may not be enough, for either her or her deadline.

I got the girl.
I lost the girl.
I realized I couldn’t live without the girl.
And then I won her back.
Waiting for Benni was easily one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. She’s it for me, and while it wasn't easy, I’d do it all over again if I had to. I’d do anything for her.
Her freedom comes with a price, though.
She’s fighting a silent battle, warring with demons living rent-free in her head, and unfortunately for us, that’s not the only battle we’ll have to face…
That almost-ex of hers, the man who I’m only just learning she went down for, has made it perfectly clear he wants her back, that he wants what’s mine.He also claims to have answers.
Answers Benni’s family have been hoping for since Tomás was left for dead.
I thought learning the truth would bring them peace, but you know what they say: fuck around and find out.
My biggest mistake wasn’t allowing her to meet with him.
It was thinking nothing would change, that nothing could shake us, not even after she suffers the greatest of losses.
But it does.
Communication fades, lies and secrets fill the silence, an imminent sense of doom hanging heavy in the air, and in the end, it’ll be proven some bonds can never be broken—no matter how toxic and screwed up we think they may be.

The only problem? I am now trapped in the manor with all the boys. Someone wants to kill us, and I’m pretty sure more than one heart will be broken.
We live in the shadows. We are your nightmares. You fuck with one of us, we’ll fuck you back stronger. There’s no easy way out once you’re a death disciple.

Hi Mich. It’s Gabe.
After burning out in her corporate marketing career, Michelle Amato has built a thriving freelance business as a graphic designer. So what if her love life is nonexistent?
