Somebody Else’s Sky (Book 2)- by Jessica Hawkins: Book Review
Synopsis
A better man would’ve walked away by now—but I never claimed to be any good. I only promised I’d keep enough distance.
If I closed my eyes, I could still see her—all blonde sunshine, ocean-blue eyes, and long limbs. My scenery may have changed from heaven to hell, but some things never would. Lake was still everything I wanted, and nothing I should ever have. I was nobody before I knew her and a criminal after.
But the only way to love her was to let her shine—even if it would be for someone else.
Book two in a completed USA Today bestselling love saga.
Hello friends and lovers!
Jessica Hawkins- Somebody Else’s Sky is book two of three in the “Something in the Way” series. Her forbidden romance is just great. The slow burn, really heats it up whenever there is the slightest graze or two.
The second book was one of the more frustrating ones for me to read, but the tension was at its highest peak in this between the love triangle that Tiffany, Lake, and Manning seem to share.
Pfft… Tiffany. I would wrangle her neck if I could. She is truly an annoying self centered sister, but who doesn’t have one of those? Maybe it’s just me, haha.
The book centers around Tiffany and Manning more so, and we see Lake’s attempt at life without Manning in this journey. But can things heat up between the two? After all, Lake is still underage during this book.
Below are snippets of my rating. This is all my personal opinion and no spoilers, so I keep it brief.
Rating: 💋💋💋💋💋/ 5
Honestly, five all across the board, because I’m falling in love with this series, Manning, Lake, and how Jessica Hawkin’s writes her characters. Officially hooked and will be buying more of her books!
I highly recommend this read if you like slow burn romances which happen to be bad timing as well, with a tiny bit of an age gap!
Steamy Rating: 💋💋💋💋/ 5
The first book review I gave it a three, this is truly a slow burn romance, but this one… although still a slow burn had me hot and bothered when Lake sat on top of the kitchen counter and their sexual tension was driving me 🍌! So it has been upgraded to four steamy rating!

And from that point forward, I drink, eat, and sleep her.
Halston: I went to his apartment and let him take my picture. Just once, to see how it would feel.
