Short Story #2 - The Hater Interview, Part 2

My Post-18.jpg

Hello friends and lovers!

Last week, I received great feedback for part 1 of this story. Naturally, I had to share part two as quick as possible. There will be a third part to the story, maybe a fourth. We’ll see where Cara and Andy take us with their adventure. It has been wonderful writing their story out.

We braved the principal separately and learned that we would be in detention for the rest of the week for “disruptive behavior.” Oh goody... stuck with Andy all week in the ever so torturous study hell, I mean hall. And to top it off, I have to work with him today after school to finish the punishment Mrs. Winston assigned us. My palm slapped against my pathetic face. Why did I have to be late today? Of all the days.

It took forever as I watched and waited for the clock to move its arms. After, what seemed like hours that stretched into days, the afternoon bell finally rang its sweet screech. I ran off to my car, hoping to avoid Andy, who seemed too determined to wreck my day. Luckily, I made it inside my car without anyone seeing me. The sweet silence that filled the stuffy air inside my car, was much better than being stuck with Andy.

Then, a loud thumping pierced my left ear as I screamed, and my body vibrated. I turned, and to my horror, it was Andy. His face smacked right against my window, almost like he was enjoying the torture he inflicted on me. I rolled my window down, annoyed.

“Hey partner, what do you say I drive us to my place? Not to brag, but we’ll have the place completely to ourselves,” he said with one arm hanging from my car, obstructing my view. He licked his soft silky lips too as he stretched to show off his biceps.

“Hard pass,” I said as I rolled up my window, escaping his gaze.

I’ve got nothing to lose, but I bet you want to keep your “A” grade in the class, right?” He asked as he looked toward the sun and smoldered for the girls checking him out.

Of course, it was a pack of eager cheerleaders, they giggled for his attention, waving their slinky arms in the air. Their uniforms looked perfectly tight. Across their top, maroon and gold lettering hugged their perky boobs. To top it off, their fluffy pom poms rested ever so slightly against their waist. They stood no more than twenty feet from my car, but their eyes lit up as Andy made his way toward them.

“Wait, Andy!” I hailed him back to my car. “You’re right. But I’ll drive us,” I negotiated.

“No can-do missy. I don’t trust your driving and I refuse to be part of your statistic. I would like to stay alive to fuck a few more girls in my lifetime. Maybe fifty more at minimum?”

What a man-whore. Really? Did he really just say I’m a bad driver? “Fuck you, Andy,” I snarled as I flipped him off with both my middle fingers. The double flip off, it was always an effective trick.

“Ok fine. I’ll hop in with you, but if you drive us and we arrive safely you’ll have to kiss me tonight. If we die on the way to my house, I’ll get to say I told you so. Even if it’s my last dying breath.” His cockiness certainly didn’t win him any points, but the way he said it, as his tongue licked across his lower lip and stared right into my soul, my heart fluttered into my stomach. Ew.

I rolled my eyes and found myself outside of my car. I followed his lead. “You win,” I muttered to myself.

“I can’t hear you. What did you say, Cara?” He teased me as he leaned in to bump me with his shoulder.

“You win, you imbecile,” I yelled as I shoved him away. I wanted to wipe the smirk off his fucking face. All of this to keep my fucking grade. I sighed as we jumped into his Jeep. His really nice, brand new smelling Jeep.

“Who did you steal this from?” I asked with absolute curiosity.

“Nobody, it’s mine. I made a bet with my Father years ago. If I kept up my grades all through my sixteenth birthday, he would have to buy me a car. We shook on it and here we are. Inside my spacious car. We should check out the backseat tonight.”

“Ugh,” I exclaimed as I exhaled. “You’re sixteen?” I asked confused. We’re seniors in high school, so most of us are about to turn eighteen this year or even nineteen by the time graduation rolls around.

“What gave you that impression? Is it my boyish good looks?” He grinned softly, completely amused.

“It has nothing to do with your looks, dickwad. Your car smells like it’s brand new!”

“Oh that,” he casually said as he whipped out a scented ornament. “Brand new car smell.”

I shook my head in disbelief, because of how dumb I sounded. Although, I didn’t take him as a bright individual, I was pleasantly surprised. I just assumed, asshat, ass grades. I judged a bit too quickly on that. Maybe there is a little more than meets the eye with this one. The butterflies revved up in my stomach again. Stop that.
